It's 10:00 in the pm.  I'm still at work.  Currently here by myself.  Strange feeling.  Sometimes I hear noises.  I wonder if the door is locked?

I just checked and it is locked so don't any of you worry.

Sinatra Reprise: The Very Good Years

This weekend I went to the annual, summer, Oklahoma City quilt show.  You know it is going to be riveting with a theme like "Silver Needles, Hearts of Gold."  I seriously think I might have been the sole representative of the 10 to 45 age group.  Well there was one girl my age who had hair down to her knee caps and was wearing several collector's item, quilt show pins she had purchased throughout the years.

All nonsense aside, I really did have fun.  My grandmother won two first place ribbons for two different quilts because she is amazing. One of her quilts sold in the auction for almost $400.  The quilt auction was by far the best part of the day.  I laughed so hard during it that I snorted and started crying.  I finally got it under control and then my mother jabbed me in the ribs, totally lost it again.  Auctions might be new favorite thing especially when you have professional auctioneers at an event like a quilt show.  It was golden. I even did a little bidding myself.  I think the next auction I attend will involve livestock.

The second best part of the day was when my grandmother saw these little baby jackets, and she said that I needed to hurry up and have a little girl so she could make cute baby stuff for her.  I replied that I should probably work on getting married before I started thinking about children.  My grandmother said "hey i'm modern.  i don't really care what order you do it.  just make sure you get child support."  I swear I could not determine whether she was being serious or joking.  Ten minutes later I was It was still giggling over it.  One time she got the phone number of the Bulgarian waiter at Denny's because she told him that she had a grandaughter who would be interested in meeting him.   I love my grandmother and oh, how I do love a quilt show!
